How to delete a referral

  1. Navigate to Client Tools, then click Manage Referrals.

  2. You will see the Pending Referrals list with two tabs: Active and Declined by client.

  3. Click Show to display the referrals list.

  4. Find the referral you want to delete.

  5. Click the Delete Referral button in the Actions column.

  6. A confirmation popup will appear: "DELETE REFERRAL for [Client Name] - Are you sure?".

  7. Click OK to confirm, the referral will be permanently deleted from the system.


How to decline a referral

  1. Navigate to Client Tools, then click Manage Referrals.

  2. Click Show to display the referrals list.

  3. Find the referral you want to decline.

  4. Click View / Edit in the Actions column to open the referral details.

  5. At the bottom of the referral details page, click the Client Declines button. Red button on the left.

  6. A popup will appear asking for the Reason for declining referral.

  7. Enter the reason, this field is mandatory if unknown, type Unknown.

  8. Click Confirm Client Declined Referral.

  9. The referral will be marked as declined and moved to the Declined by client tab.

The key difference is that Delete permanently removes the referral from the system.

Decline keeps the referral record but marks it as declined by the client, and the decline reason is filed back into the client's clinical record if the system is integrated with a clinical system (EMIS/SystmOne/Vision).
