When setting up the Elemental EMIS integration, you will be asked to confirm your practice details. Your practice details include your GP practice identifier, also known as your ODS code (Organisation Data Service code). This is a unique code assigned to every GP practice in England by NHS England.
What is an ODS code?
An ODS code is a short alphanumeric code (6 characters, for example A12345) that uniquely identifies your GP practice within NHS systems. It is used by Elemental to link your practice to the correct configuration during EMIS integration setup.
How to find your ODS code
There are two common ways to find your practice's ODS code:
Open EMIS Web to find your ODS code.
Look it up via the NHS ODS portal:
Open the NHS ODS portal (ods.nhsbsa.nhs.uk) or ask your ICB (Integrated Care Board) or commissioner for the code.
Search for your practice by name or postcode.
Your ODS code will appear in the search results next to your practice name.

Where to enter it in Elemental
Once you have your ODS code, provide it to Elemental support when confirming your practice details during onboarding. Do not enter it anywhere in the platform directly, it is configured on your behalf by the Elemental team.
